Comprehensive Exams
We provide thorough nose to tail examinations for all visits, whether they be for annual wellness or for acute or chronic conditions. This allows for a complete assessment of your pet’s overall health and well-being.
Puppy & Kitten Appointments
This is an exciting time for you! We will provide a thorough examination of your pet and discuss ideal preventive care. Topics covered will include vaccinations, diet, deworming, microchipping, spaying or neutering and will address any other questions you may have. We will also spend time discussing behaviour and training and offer resources to help get you and your new family member off to a great start.
Vaccines, Deworming & Preventative Care
Preventive care is key when considering the overall health of our pets. We can fulfil your pet’s needs by following an appropriate vaccine schedule, performing vaccine titres, and offering deworming and flea/tick prevention.
Diagnostic Testing
Includes microscopic examination of ear or skin swabs, skin scrapings, or cytology of masses. Urinalysis, fecal testing, tick-borne disease testing and FIV/Feline Leukemia testing can also be performed in your home at the time of the appointment. More extensive bloodwork is sent to an outside lab for analysis.
Minor Surgical Procedures
We are able to do some in-home surgical procedures with sedation and a local anesthetic, including laceration repairs, abscess treatment, small lump removals and biopsies. For surgical procedures requiring a general anesthetic, we work with Nelson Animal Hospital to provide this service.
Hospice & Palliative Care
This modality is focused on relieving your pet’s physical pain, and improving daily comfort. During a time that is difficult for both you and your beloved pet, we are here to support and guide you.
Home Euthanasia
We provide a compassionate and caring way to say goodbye to your loved one in the comfort and privacy of your home. We will take care of all aftercare arrangements.
Technician Appointments
Our qualified registered vet technician will come to your home for nail trims, anal gland expression, subcutaneous fluid administration, rehabilitation, and blood draws. Upon completion of her hospice and palliative care certification, she will also be able to work with you on achieving ideal solutions for your pet’s quality of life.
Phone Consultations
Once we have seen your pet for an exam, we may be able to provide certain follow up care over the phone, or with video-chat. This is a convenient option for accessing our veterinary expertise.
